With the free Borland C++ compiler you can rebuild the LPNG library which provides reading and writing of PNG image files. The download includes a decription of the build process including obtaining all the sources files and modifying the build files to work on your PC. It is a useful introduction to using C for the non-expert. It also mentions using command line switches to add Pentium optimisation to the library to get better performance. Delphi units to use the finished library are included.
