ID: 15910, emacs tab key emulation

by Daniel Bikel Email: Anonymous

It would be great if JBuilder could snap the current line to its "proper" indentation via the tab key, as in emacs.

In emacs, when coding for C, C++, Java or lisp (or most any programming language for which emacs has a mode), the default behavior for the tab key is not to insert whitespace, but rather to snap the current line to its "proper" indentation, which is determined by analyzing its context relative to surrounding code (and the indentation style is highly customizable via many variables). I know this seems like a small feature, but it's an *amazing* time-saver, and it would be great if JBuilder had this feature, either internally, or via an OpenTool of some kind.
