Everytime Tomcat is launched Jbuilder's Tomcat integration creates a new configuration file for Tomcat. It is placed in the conf directory of the project and is named server.xml (in most cases server8080.xml). This is fine for trivial web applications but if you try to develop secure web applications you run into trouble. This generated server.xml has no realms configured. If no realm is configured and your web application contains security constraints Tomcat 4 will disable your web application. It simply does not bring up your application context. This is only one negative issue. In general with this restriction no one can use other realms or valves or can activate the SSL connector of Tomcat 4.
