This open tool performs spell-checking of the selected text in the current editor window. A menu item "Spell-check Selection..." is added under the "Edit" menu in the editor. When this option is invoked, a simple spell-checking of the selected text is performed.

The standard dictionary is based on the unix /usr/dict/words file, which by no mean is complete. This version does not provide a list of alternatives when a word not in dictionary is found. It simply prompts to skip/replace/add the incorrect word.

In the current version, the spell-check is case-insensitive and therefore will not catch such errors as lower-cased names, double upper-cased words, and so on. The spell-check does understand words ending with 's, ing, es, ed, s, d (such as item's, going, riding, classes, worked, lots, loaded, etc.)

The dialog box will contain the invalid word in a text field with buttons 'Replace', 'Replace All', 'Add', 'Skip', 'Skip All', and 'Stop'.

* 'Replace' option will replace the word with whatever is in the text field.

* 'Replace All' option will replace this and all future occurrences of the word with whatever is in the text field.

* 'Add' option will add the word to the custom dictionary. Doing so will make the tool automatically recognize this word the next time the spell-check is invoked.

* 'Skip' option will leave this word without modifications.

* 'Skip All' option will leave this and all future occurrences of the word without modifications. Note that this option is case-sensitive, therefore selecting 'Skip All' for work 'kljhsd' will not skip the word 'KLjhsD'.

* 'Stop' option will stop the spell-check keeping whatever replacements were already made.

The tool also adds a page to the "Editor Options..." dialog box under the "Tools" menu. This page displays a list of words in the custom dictionary and contains buttons to add new words, edit existing words, and remove words from the dictionary.
