A new feature of JBuilder 8 is the ability to drag and drop selected text in the editor. Unfortunately, text selection is problematic, and you must often click the mouse more than once to cancel the previous selection (which is different from how selection works everywhere else in the world). I found that I was constantly having to undo text moves that occurred when all I did was use a text selection gesture.

For this and other reasons, I find JB8's new drag-and-drop editing feature to be extremely dangerous. Following a suggestion by Gillmer Derge (Team B), I've written an OpenTool that turns it off for all editor views. It also returns text selection gestures to normal, in that clicking and dragging will cancel any previous selection. Occasionally JBuilder will still interpret a text selection gesture as a drag, but since the editor is no longer a drop target, you're safe.
