Minor Update:
The current version is not smart enough to use good defaults in the absence of an ini file (not good, I know). To run the current version you must either download an ini file (which I will post) or edit the ini file generated when you first run the app (which will generate errors when you try to connect) and saved when you exit.

Specifically, the worst problem is the PacketSize setting when not present in the ini file (or no ini file is present) defaults to zero! This will bring up OLE DB errors when you try to connect. So just edit the ini file, and put "PacketSize=4096", save it then run the app again.

I will post a new version that will fix this problem in the near future. In the meantime, please follow the abovestated workaround. I would also appreciate some feedback.

Minor Update:
There was a problem in the previous version performing scanning of clipart when connected to MS SQL Server via SQL Server Authentication

ClipartDB is a program developed using Delphi that provides a way to store images in a database. It started as a small internal project to eliminate the disruption in my coding thought process when I go searching for a cool glyph or splash screen for the applications I was developing. It uses MS SQL Server 7.0/MSDE or higher as the database engine with support for Interbase/Firebird planned.

Easy management of your image files. You can backup all your images in an offline media (cd-r, tape, etc.) while maintaining really fast access to the images.

Fast searching of images using related metadata like height, width, bit depth, etc. with support for key words and key word searching.

Easy browsing of images by displaying the images as thumbnails.

Tracks your and other user's usage. Always have your most often used cliparts on hand while having easy access to the clipart others use.

Fast display of images by intelligently storing the thumbnails in the database and caching the thumbnails in the local hard disk.

Multithreaded scanning and display of images. The application stays responsive even while performing most database operations.

Images and thumbnails are stored in the database in compressed form. This saves storage space especially for non-compressed images like BMPs, PSDs, etc.

Cluster slack is eliminated giving you back the space wasted by having lots of really small images.

Shows you the potential duplicates in the database. You never have to waste time or hard disk space keeping around multiple copies of the same images.

Supports most popular image formats including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, WMF, EMF, ICO, PSD, TGA, PCX, PSP.

Only 800KB!!!
