Description
|
Do you remember dial up Bulletin Boards? Before the Internet, every computer hobbyist was his own SysOp and ran his own dial-up own on-line service from his XT or TRS-80 in his bedroom! RBBS-PC, PC-Board, Wildcat, and other systems were ubiquitous and access was often free. These systems offered primitive email, forums (what are called newsgroups today), and multiplayer online "door" games.
Bernie Host ia a dial-up BBS server written by yours truly in Turbo Pascal. I actually used this as my own BBS in the heyday of public Bulletin Boards before they were killed by the Internet. Bernie Host is no stripped down "demo" BBS program -- it supports private email, public forums, shareware library file upload/download, doors, surveys, and other features.
