Description
The powerful Archive component represents all data as individual items in a collection, regardless of whether their source is compressed or uncompressed, exposing their properties for customization. This technology allows for mixing uncompressed data with previously compressed files and recompressing them into new archives. For those requiring simple operations, the Archive component includes QuickZip and QuickUnZip capability, allowing for compression and decompression with only one line of code. Batch operations are supported with wildcards and the multi-threaded asynchronous capability allows for behind-the-scenes operation without hurting application performance. Other key features include the ability to create self-extracting zip files with a programmatically configurable self-extractor, reading gZip files, Winzip compatible AES encryption, and full support for spanning operations, whether to removable media such as a floppy, or splitting the data to a hard drive.
