JReport, the best-in-class reporting tool for Java, puts a complete range of sophisticated reporting functionality at users? fingertips. It takes full advantage of the scalability, platform independence, and easy integration of J2EE technology to provide a powerful, flexible report delivery solution that fits seamlessly within any enterprise architecture. JReport allows users to design all kinds of custom business reports with ease, access virtually any data source, deploy the reports to any web application server, and deliver them over the Web in any output format.

JReport Designer is an easy-to-use report design IDE, written entirely in Java, for creating all kinds of simple or sophisticated reports with charts, graphics, barcodes, subreports, cross-tabs, dynamic hyperlinks, and drill-down analysis. It provides a Report Wizard to guide users step-by-step through the report creation process, a drag-and-drop design interface where report layout can be done intuitively, and a Report Inspector that allows users to view and edit objects and their properties with a point and click.

With built-in data connectivity, users can access any ODBC, JDBC, EJB, or XML data source. JReport Designer also provides a User-defined Data API, so users can access virtually any data source.

- Catalog Browser: Components available for building your report, including data source, queries, formulas, parameters, and various data and drawing objects are available for you to pick and drop into your report.

- Multiple Output Formats: JReport can export the report result to HTML, XML, Text, PDF, RTF, CSV, Email, Excel and PostScript.

- TrueType Font System: Fundamentally resolved Java's font mapping problems. Reports are now truly cross-platforms with high resolution printer output.

- User Defined Objects, Funtions, and Styles: Extend JReport with new object types. Write Java programs as functions. Define style sheets to streamline the formatting of font size, typeface, alignment, and other parameters.

- Runtime Parameters: Set parameters to dynamically control query values, as well as report layout, at runtime.

- Pipelined Output Stream: Only JReport allows users to view an executing report as soon as the first page has run, without waiting for the entire report to be completed.
